Get Ready for a Day of Fun and Action at the WMPD Open House!
Ever wanted to see a police K-9 in action, step inside a S.W.A.T. vehicle, or witness a real-life rescue demonstration? Now’s your chance! The West Monroe Police Department Open House is happening Saturday, March 15th, from 10 AM to 2 PM at 2301 N. 7th Street, and you’re invited for a behind-the-scenes look at the heroes who serve our community every day.
There’s something for everyone—watch a K-9 demonstration, see the S.W.A.T. team in action, and check out an extrication demo by the West Monroe Fire Department. Ever wondered what it’s like to be tased? (Don’t worry, you won’t have to find out firsthand!) But you can watch a taser and less-lethal demonstration. Plus, the Acadian Helicopter will be landing right in front of City Hall!
And what’s an Open House without treats? Enjoy free face painting, snowballs from Debbie’s, popcorn, and refreshing lemonade from Daily Press. The little ones (and let’s be honest, the grown-ups too) can take on the large obstacle course jumper, and don’t miss your chance to explore police vehicles, the Crime Scene Van, an ambulance, and a fire truck.
Oh, and did we mention you can tour the entire West Monroe Police Department? Mark your calendars, bring the family, and come experience an action-packed, fun-filled day with WMPD!
