SUMMARY:First Responders Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual First Responders Luncheon!\nOur First Responders dedicate themselves to protecting and serving our community every day. This fall\, the Chamber is proud to recognize these local heroes at our First Responders Luncheon\, and we’re inviting our members to help make this special event possible. \nThere are three meaningful ways you can get involved: \nBecome a Sponsor\nHelp us honor those who serve our community through an event sponsorship. Sponsorship opportunities are available at $250 and $750\, offering your business visibility while demonstrating your support for our local police officers\, firefighters\, EMS personnel\, dispatchers\, and other first responders. Sponsorship can be reserved on our events page or by simply contacting the chamber! \nWrite a Letter of Appreciation\nA heartfelt note can make a lasting impact. We’re collecting thank-you notes (notecard sized and handwritten) from Chamber members to include in each first responder’s luncheon gift box. Whether it’s a few sentences or a full page\, your words of encouragement and gratitude will help remind our first responders how much they’re appreciated. Our goal is to have more than one personal note per lunch so feel free to contribute up to the full 550 list! Note: We will need these notes no later than September 8th at the Chamber Office for pre-packaging. \nVolunteer to Assemble Gift Boxes\nWe’re looking for a limited number of volunteers to help assemble the appreciation packets and boxed lunches before the event. It’s a great opportunity to serve alongside fellow Chamber members and play a hands-on role in recognizing our community’s heroes. We ask that each volunteer group limit their numbers to less 5 per organization to give as many organizations the opportunity to participate as possible.  Volunteer shifts are from 8:30am-10:30am on September 11th at Ouachita Parish Schools Office. Sign up online at our events page or call the Chamber for details! \n To learn more about the event\, visit our website linked under the website description.

SUMMARY:9|11 Never Forget Remembrance Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:Join us September 11th for a remembrance ceremony for the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Below is a letter written by Nell Calloway. \n“Why We Must Remember September 11\, 2021 – 25 Years Later   \nRemembering the Past. Honoring the Sacrifice. Protecting the Future.  \nEvery September 11\, we pause to remember a day that changed America forever. On September 11\, 2001\, our nation experienced one of the darkest days in its history. Nearly 3\,000 innocent people lost their lives. Families lost loved ones. First responders ran toward danger while others were running away. Many Americans answered the call to military service in the years that followed. Their stories remind us that service is not always about being in the spotlight. It is about being willing to do what needs to be done when your country or your fellow citizens need you. That lesson is as important today as it was in 2001. \nBut 9/11 is not only a story about tragedy. It is also a story about courage\, sacrifice\, service\, and Americans coming together. That is why we must remember. \nFor those of us who lived through September 11\, 2001\, the memories remain vivid. We remember where we were when we heard the news. We remember watching the events unfold and wondering what would happen next. We remember the fear\, uncertainty\, and sadness. But we also remember something else. We remember Americans helping one another. \nWe remember firefighters\, police officers\, paramedics\, doctors\, nurses\, military personnel\, and ordinary citizens answering the call to help. We remember people standing in line to donate blood\, communities supporting grieving families\, and Americans displaying the flag and coming together as one nation. In the days following 9/11\, the differences that often divided Americans seemed much smaller than the things we shared. We were Americans first. \nThere is another important reason to remember 9/11 today. A growing number of young Americans were born after September 11\, 2001. To them\, 9/11 is history—not a memory. That makes our responsibility even greater. For some\, not even a memory\, we have visitors today ask\, “What’s 9/11?” \nSeptember 11 did not end on September 11. Its effects continue to influence national security\, military service\, aviation security\, public safety\, law enforcement\, building safety\, foreign policy\, and the lives of countless families. \nRemembering can bring us together. Perhaps one of the most important lessons of September 11 is the importance of unity. For a brief time\, Americans remembered that we were all part of something bigger than ourselves. Neighbors helped neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. Communities came together. The American flag appeared everywhere. That spirit should not have to wait for another tragedy. We can choose to carry it forward. We can disagree without being divided. We can serve our communities. We can respect the sacrifices made by others. \nAnd we can teach our children that being an American comes with responsibilities as well as freedoms. \nAt the Chennault Aviation & Military Museum\, we believe deeply in the responsibility to preserve history. We tell the stories of Americans who served in conflicts throughout our nation’s history—from the Revolutionary War to the conflicts of today. We do this because we understand that freedom is never free. \nEvery generation has a responsibility to remember the generations that came before it. September 11 is no different. We owe it to the victims. We owe it to the first responders. We owe it to the military men and women who served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We owe it to their families who carried the weight of that sacrifice long after the headlines faded. \nAnd we owe it to the young people who will inherit the responsibility of protecting and preserving the freedoms we enjoy. \nThis September 11\, take a moment to remember. Remember the lives lost. Remember the heroes. \nWe remember because they mattered. We remember because their stories matter. We remember so that they are never forgotten.”

SUMMARY:Cain Live and In Worship
DESCRIPTION:Join CAIN with special guest Leeland this fall for their Live and In Worship tour\, a night designed to create space for genuine encounter. Come as you are\, be refreshed\, and leave filled in the presence of God. Through songs that speak life and moments of intentional worship\, this evening invites you into something both uplifting and deeply restoring. Make sure to wear orange! \nSCHEDULE\n5:30 – VIP\n6:00 – Reserved\n7:00 – Concert\nGET TICKETS HERE! \n  \nABOUT CAIN \nIt has been said that if you spend five minutes with the members of CAIN you’ll feel like you’ve spent the afternoon in the sunshine. Their joy spills over onto each person they meet\, and their bright smiles are as contagious as their stunning harmonies. Pouring their joy into their music\, CAIN has discovered what it’s like to live their calling while doing their favorite thing – singing about Jesus. \nRaised in Hartselle\, Alabama as pastor’s kids\, CAIN – Taylor Cain Matz\, Madison Cain Johnson\, and Logan Cain – got their first break opening for Dave Barnes and Andrew Ripp at a show in 2012. Now more than a decade later\, they’ve headlined multiple tours and shared the stage with Chris Tomlin\, TobyMac\, Phil Wickham and more. \nABOUT LEELAND \nLEELAND is a Texas-based band made of lead singer\, songwriter\, and multi-instrumentalist Leeland Mooring alongside guitarist and co-writer Casey Moore. They came to the forefront of the worship music sphere in 2004 and debuted their first project in 2006. LEELAND have become one of the most significant and standout voices in a new generation of worship music. Their lives\, ministry\, and music are a true extension of their passion to simply worship God personally and in community. \n“Although our genesis as a band was in the Contemporary Christian Music artist stream\, we’ve always been local church pastor’s kids\,” Mooring explains. He spent his childhood going from town to town with his parents who ministered music in tandem with being traveling evangelists. “Half of the songs on our first studio album came out of intimate youth group worship services in our house or wherever we could meet\,” he adds. \nMooring co-wrote one of the Church’s most-sung standards\, ‘Lion and the Lamb’. The song cemented his personal status as a young veteran in the sphere of modern worship music. Further affirming that LEELAND as a collective are drawn into crafting songs that court congregations across the globe to worship God through the act of singing – and singing together.
