“The Compassion Experience” is coming to Monroe, and 88.7 The Cross wants to share with you this chance to see a third world country up close and personal. This event was created to bring the developing world to the US. The event provides an authentic international experience to people that may not otherwise get to travel and see the realities of the developing world first hand.
The Compassion Experience is Friday March 20th, through Monday March 23rd, at North Monroe Baptist Church, on Hwy 165 in Monroe.
Each visitor receives and iPod and headset, and will travel through over 2,000 square feet of exhibit space. They’ll visit replicas of homes, markets and schools in 2 developing-world countries — Bolivia and Uganda. It’s different than seeing another country through the windows of a tour bus — visitors get the chance to step inside homes and hear true stories from people who actually live there. Plan on spending up to an hour at the event if you want to experience all of the stories that are available. For parents, it’s a great opportunity to teach kids about poverty in a safe environment. It’s a conversation starter for families.
Free, appropriate for all ages, and wheelchair accessible.
At the end of the event, visitors will have the opportunity to partner with Compassion and help release a child from poverty through sponsorship. Registration is NOT required, but recommended — visit compassion.com/change to register. It’ll make your experience – and your child’s – so much better!
